Gynaecology, Obstetrics
BM 2003 Southampton; FRANZCOG 2014
Laura attained her Medical Degree from the University of Southampton in the UK. After working in the UK she moved to New Zealand, fell in love with the country and decided to stay forever (rather than the 9 months originally intended!). She has undergone medical attachments from Auckland to Invercargill and completed her specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
During this time she realised a passion and skill for ‘Fertility Medicine’ and as such has undertaken further training and completed her Masters in Reproductive Medicine from the University of New South Wales and is completing her sub specialisation to obtain CREI (Certificate in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility- the highest training level for Fertility in Australasia). She also undertakes teaching in Fertility for both under and post graduate Health Professionals.
Laura has a friendly, compassionate, down to earth manner and is focused on finding the best route for her patients to achieve their goals. Having had her own ‘fertility journey’ she understands some of the stresses and joys going through the process of fertility treatment can bring. She uses this experiences to provide sensitive support and advice without imposing her experience on others as she understands everyone’s fertility journey is unique. She has a broad interest in all aspects of fertility, fertility preservation and recurrent pregnancy loss.
In her spare time Laura is a keen horse rider, tennis player and a terribly slow runner.
